You are facing a serious legal matter. Often it can lead to you going to jail, or losing your job or your driving privilege.

You may have hired the first lawyer you spoke to. You may be feeling a little uneasy about the answers that lawyer is giving you. Maybe your phone calls are not always being returned. You are unclear about the direction your case is headed. What do you do?

In most cases it is a very good idea to receive a “second opinion” from a highly skilled criminal defense or family law lawyer. Any good lawyer will be happy for their clients to seek a second opinion. A competent lawyer knows that it is always helpful to receive valuable input from another lawyer as to how they might handle the case. If your lawyer does not wish to cooperate with a “second opinion” then you may have the wrong lawyer.

When a person faces a serious medical crisis, they usually seek out second and even third opinions as to the proper course of treatment. Competent physicians welcome patients seeking other opinions. The patients feel much better after having done so.

It is the same when you are facing a serious legal case. There is seldom just one answer to how your legal matter might be handled.

Please STRONGLY CONSIDER seeking out a second opinion when facing a serious legal matter. The cost of second opinion is normally not that expensive. When you balance the cost to the consequences you may be facing, you will see that it is much better as they say “to be safe than sorry”.
